Hippo's Rest is a privately owned residence, a secret sanctuary tucked away from the chaos of the city, waiting to be discovered by intrepid travellers. We recommend a 4×4 to visit Hippo’s Rest, but seasoned off-roaders should be fine too, depending on the weather.

Hippo's Rest is about getting away and being "off-grid". We use paraffin to heat water and gas to cook. We have solar panels for lights and charging small devices.

Perfect for groups of 15-16 seeking a secluded and peaceful getaway, or small families of 1-3 members. Whether you’re planning a reunion, celebration, or simply a relaxing escape with friends and family, Hippo's Rest will be an unforgettable experience!

Ideal for group activities and gatherings, the main camp accommodates 4 to 10 people comfortably.
